Leave around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2. 54 minutes to Penny's house.  (Arrive at Penny's house at 8:00 a.m.) 


OCTOBER 2  - 7 hrs 28 min.-Esther’s Hamilton Bungalow, $137.23/night, Hamilton, Ontario Canada (Free cancellation before Sept 27)

Bus stop 3 min walk. To Toronto downtown and Niagara Falls. Rest. and shopping walking dist.

OCTOBER 3  -2 hrs. 26 min.-Hastings, Ontario, Canada . Quiet Retreat by Trent River, on Heritage Trail, boats!  $84/night, hiking trails everywhere, S. She has dogs, cats & horses. By beach. Top 10% of homes. $94.65 BOOKED


OCTOBER 4  Montreal   Hosted by Rohan Santha.7200 Rue Jarry Est. Check in 5 pm. Check out before 10 am. Self check-in with lock box. $153.19 BOOKED


OCTOBER 5-6-  1 hr, 41 min hours to Kingston, Canada. Apartment in Trois-Rivieres,Quebec La Casa du Fleuve- Downtown, $151/night. Pool.  Festival of International poets, Oct. 4-13! (3 hrs to Montreal)  $333 BOOKED

OCTOBER 7-  Quebec City 1 hr, 24 min. Levis, Canada $154 on river, whole house.  Waterfalls nearby, 20 min from old Quebec. $149.52 BOOKED


OCTOBER 8-9-  3 hrs., 28 min to Montgomery, Vermont. (Covered bridge capital of U.S.) (Stop in Burlington, Vermont to see Jonathan and Anne- 1 hr., 9 min.) Head out from Burlington.

..Drive south through Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut-take Rt. 84 to Pennsylvania to Harrisburg, Penn.

Penny’s expenditures:       $  171.81/2=  $  85.91

- 85.91-deducting ½ of Kent expenditure from the total you owe me. $656.16=  Penny owes me (Correct amount. I checked it against my credit card statement.)

Okay kids, we traveled through Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan for 8 hours to get to Canada.   We are in our first AirBnb. It's nice.  Lots of African decor.  I'm exhausted; we traveled 9 hours.  Good night.  8:12 pm. Zzzzzzz ---------------- In the morning: Ecuadorian coffee Juli bought me a while ago, Nice and strong!  The border crossing was simple. First a bridge leaving the US with a giant American flag, after crossing the beautiful, expansive bridge, a vibrant, red maple 🍁 flag for Canada.   Viola!   This was an arcade back in Anarbor, Michigan, where we stopped on the way to Canada.  It was designed to look like in France.   This is Penny, my travel mate.  All Victorian to art deco jewelry.   Headed to Niagra Falls, then on to Hastings, Ontario, to a little house on the side of a river that has cats,  dogs and horses! They also have hiking trails and who knows what else?

The day before

 Holy multitasking, has my day been busy.   It all started when I scratched my eye while I was washing my face, so my vision has been blurred in my left eye for part of the day and it's secreting junk.   I had to do some more laundry, wipe down the kitchen, lessen the amount of  pet hair left behind,  and sent out a reminder letter to parents that I'll not be tutoring for the better part of October.  I took Reese to the park at 6:30, and shortly after I got home, the car detailrt team came out to get my car spick and span-ready for the trip.   He pulled 4 bags of "stuff" out of my car, plus a 60 lb bag of little league balls that Reese pilfered from the park over the last months. Then , as I set out to put everything that was in the car away in it's proper place.  (Garage, house, or somewhere else in the car), the tutoring mom's started bombard me with texts and emails and QUESTIONS!
